Super Lawyers® selects attorneys through the use of a patented selections process, relying on peer nominations and evaluations that are combined with independent research. Lawyers may not nominate themselves and cannot campaign for their nominations. Once in the candidate pool, lawyers are evaluated based on 12 indicators, including verdicts and settlements, experience, special licenses and certifications, honors and awards, position within a law firm, and professional activity. Candidates who receive the highest scores serve on the Blue Ribbon Panel and evaluate other candidates within their primary practice area.
Selections are made annually and on a state-by-state basis. Only 5% of attorneys are selected from each state, making this distinction a rare and great honor.
